6 weeks out

4 weeks out
Reserve the building elevator if you have one. Sort and donate what you are not keeping. Keep packing room by room and label as you go.
2 weeks out
File change of address with USPS. Set up or transfer utilities and internet at the new home. Confirm crew, truck, and arrival window in writing. Pack everything but daily essentials.
1 week out
Pack a first-night box and keep it with you. Set aside valuables and documents to carry yourself. Defrost the fridge. Confirm parking at both addresses.
Moving day
Walk the home with the crew lead. Keep the AC on and paths clear. Do a final walkthrough together before the truck leaves and check every closet, cabinet, and the garage.
